Temporary work platform netting

Classification
Ultimate Access "Temporary Work Platform" nets are manufactured to the same specification set out in the standard BS EN 1263-1 (the same as fall arrest safety netting) but the manufacturing process of "Temporary Work Platform" nets is a much higher specification and carry a B1 classification which has a much greater energy rating of 4.4 kJ.
The nets are only a temporary work platform when they are used as part of a system, all of the following must be present for a system to comply with current regulations:
- Engineered net
- Independent safety backup system
- Competent person(s)
Specification
- High tenacity polypropylene
- Knotless construction
- 5mm (approx) diameter twine
- 60 / 45mm mesh size
- Tensile strength of mesh 3.2kN
- 12mm border rope / ties 30kN break strength
- Debris mesh underlay 36kg burst strength
Safety Lines - CE EN 1891 Type A
- 10.5mm low stretch rope / break load 2200kg (minimum)

Installation
Ultimate Access "Temporary Work Platform" nets are a bespoke design engineered specifically for the individual requirements of a project. The nets are installed with no "sag". Stretch calculations are taken into consideration because a "known load" is being applied, the nets are a pre tension design which helps minimise deflection when a load(s) is applied. The nets have a factory fitted supported debris mesh to the under side, the nets are tied at 1 metre maximum centres and each adjacent net is then stitched tied together creating a sealed system. Independent safety backup systems are then installed for operatives to attach to. "Temporary Work Platform" nets should only be installed and used by competent persons with advanced rigging techniques.
